What's new in NoMachine version 7?

Smarter UI design and usability enhancements 
A lot of work has been done on the NoMachine interface, with significant changes to the layout to improve usability and enhance ]the overall user experience, not only when accessing software settings, but also when initiating connections to remote desktops.A brand new feature in this update is the ability to initiate web-based connections from the UI, just like with traditional connections
Simplified UI navigation and connection management 
The NoMachine player and server configurations are now combined to facilitate UI navigation. When starting a NoMachine session, a new window is created to allow the user to separate the session from the main NoMachine window. As a result, users can easily access settings and connect to configurations even if a remote desktop session is open.
Machine Panel 
The "Machine" panel gives an overview of the stored connections and any desktops available on the LAN. The novelty of this version is that it is also possible to visualize web-based sessions and recordings that can be played back on the local host.
Simplified connection creation 
Connection creation is much faster thanks to a unique interface for launching Player and Web Player sessions. Any relevant session options can be easily accessed and configured from the now simplified layout.
Simplified Menu in System Tray 
Equally important is the monitor menu available in the system tray, which has been updated to better integrate with the native operating system themes and styles, providing a visually friendly view of the available fast-track options.
Enhancement of cloud server environment 
To further support large multi-server deployments, Cloud Server offers a number of enhancements to facilitate user and administrator activities.
Automatic allocation of enterprise desktops

When hundreds of nearly identical enterprise desktops are associated with a cloud server, users often need to connect on a "first-come, first-served" basis. By enabling automatic assignment of the first available enterprise desktop, a new algorithm checks which enterprise desktop hosts are available for free or whether the user is already logged in, effectively eliminating the need for users to know which resource to connect to.
Configuration file rules propagation 
Because Cloud Server can broadcast rules to all of its associated subservers, it helps manage profiles regarding users, service availability, and resource access in a multi-server environment. This ensures that administrators can effectively manage corporate policies from a central location.
Other Features
Get the most out of your multi-monitor workspace 

Virtual desktop sessions available in the Terminal Server product can now seamlessly adapt to the client's multi-monitor workspace. Since NoMachine can create virtual monitors that reflect client settings, users can schedule their virtual desktops and any applications running there based on the preferences they set on their local desktops. This means that the window manager running in the session is aware of the multiple monitors available on the client, and remote applications can be maximized or displayed full screen on a single monitor.
Wake up, WOL Time is up!
If a computer on the same local network is turned off, NoMachine can now wake it up for you. This is accomplished by sending "magic packets" from the client to a remote PC or Mac. These packets can use the MAC address of the network card to locate the specific computer you want to wake up. Once enabled by the user in the connection configuration, the only requirements to operate Wake-on-LAN are that the remote computer is connected via Ethernet and that the hardware must support Wake-on-LAN with a compatible BIOS and network card.
Authentication with separate accounts in a multi-server environment 
In cases where the cloud server environment uses multiple levels of authentication, such as AD subscriber authentication and subdomains, the NoMachine multi-server infrastructure can now be configured to request different user credentials to log in to the NoMachine sub-servers. As a result, administrators can decide whether it is more appropriate to allow straight-through authentication for each user, where the authentication on the sub-servers is the same as the authentication on the cloud server, or ensure that users log in with different user names.
Enable automatic recording at session start 
NoMachine's screen recording tools have provided a powerful way to create accessible and shareable videos for a variety of purposes, such as how-to and training materials. With the latest update, administrators can now automatically record remote sessions for all or specific users, which is ideal for IT managers who need to record activity in remote desktop sessions for monitoring or auditing purposes.
Let users choose their preferred Linux desktop 
In this release, we have added the possibility to provide the user with a list of all available Linux desktop environments on the remote host, if this is the configured preference. Until now, the Linux version of the NoMachine terminal server either ran the default X session set on the system or a different X session if it was configured to do so for virtual desktops. From now on, NoMachine will also be able to automatically detect any other desktops installed by the administrator on the Linux host and allow the user to choose.
